Essential Legal Information

Purpose

REACT develops technology to improve the identification and assessment of potential intellectual property infringements. Members may voluntarily contribute product images and other reference materials to support the development, training, testing and validation of REACT's non-commercial AI models used for intellectual property protection and enforcement.

Materials Members May Contribute

 
• Official product photographs and product images.
 
• Packaging images.
 
• Logos and brand assets.
 
• Examples of genuine products.
 
• Examples of known counterfeit products.
 
• Registered designs or distinctive product features.
 
• Product identification guides.
 
• Other reference material relevant to infringement detection.

Members should only provide materials they are authorised to share with REACT for the agreed purpose.

Permitted Use by REACT

By contributing materials and providing the corresponding authorisation, the member permits REACT to use the materials for the agreed purposes of AI model development, training, testing and validation, including image recognition, product classification, similarity analysis and infringement detection.

The materials will support REACT's intellectual property protection and enforcement activities and will not be sold as a standalone dataset.

Ownership and Intellectual Property

Contribution of materials does not transfer ownership of the member's intellectual property to REACT. All trademarks, copyrights, designs and other intellectual property rights remain with their respective owners. The member grants REACT permission to use the contributed materials only for the agreed AI development and enforcement purposes.

Safeguards

Depending on the nature of the material and member requirements, REACT may apply safeguards including

• Restricted access and controlled storage.
 
• Dataset separation.
 
• Watermarking where appropriate.
 
• Removal of unnecessary metadata.
 
• Limitations on third-party access.
 
• Other proportionate technical and organisational controls.

Third-Party Technology Provider

Where an approved technology provider assists REACT with AI development, access to member-contributed data shall be subject to appropriate contractual and security controls. Member data shall not be authorised for independent commercial exploitation or general-purpose AI model training by such providers unless separately agreed.

Confidentiality

Materials identified as confidential shall be handled according to REACT's applicable confidentiality and information-security requirements. Members should identify any specific confidentiality, use, geographic, retention or access restrictions when providing the materials and explicitly inform REACT about such confidentiality.

Withdrawal

A member may request that REACT stop using contributed materials for future AI training. REACT will remove the relevant source material from future training datasets where reasonably practicable.

Where contributed information has already influenced the parameters of a trained model, complete technical removal from an existing model may not always be feasible. REACT will assess the appropriate action, which may include preventing future use of the source dataset or retraining where justified and technically feasible.

Member Responsibilities

The member confirms that it has sufficient authority to provide the contributed materials and to permit their use for the purposes described in these terms. The member should notify REACT of any restrictions that could affect the permitted use of the materials.

Member Authorisation

The Member confirms that it is authorised to provide the submitted materials and authorises REACT to use them for the development, training, testing and validation of AI models used for REACT's intellectual property protection and enforcement activities, subject to the safeguards and limitations described in these Terms.
